OSPERT 2010 has served as a communication platform for practitioners and theoreticians in the area of real-time operating systems. The program consisted of 10 papers selected from a total of 16 submissions, organised into three sessions. The focus was set on providing ample of discussion time between presentations.

This year’s edition of OSPERT continued the dialogue between the Linux and academic real-time research community. The late morning session was devoted to a panel of Björn Brandenburg, Dario Faggioli, Herman Härtig, Thomas Gleixner, and Peter Zijlstra. This panel discussed the applicability and obstacles in application of real-time systems research in the Linux kernel as well as issues in the Linux kernel which need to be addressed.
The day concluded with a discussion session at the end of the day.
