Participants are kindly requested to arrive the afternoon of Saturday Sept 4th and stay for the duration of the school, until Friday Sept 10th lunch. The school will start on Sunday Sept 5th at 9:00.

The Escandille is a comfortable seminar centre located in the beautiful Vercors surroundings. It includes a swimming pool and a brand new Spa.

Rooms for the participants have been booked from Saturday, Sept 4th (from 15:00) to Friday, Sept 10th (morning). Students will be on Double or Triple occupancy basis. Speakers have individual rooms.

Upon arrival Saturday please check in at the ARTIST reception desk where you will receive your badge, the programme for the week including a detail on social activities, a list of attendees, a certificate of attendance as well as some general information about Autrans and its surroundings. A welcome drink and presentation of the week will take place at the hotel at around 19:30 and will be followed by a welcome dinner.

All lunches will be served on-site at the Escandille seminar centre.

Arrival

There are several ways to reach Grenoble:
1. Arrival via Lyon St Exupery airport
 
School’s Free Shuttle Buses from Lyon St Exupéry Airport

On Saturday, Sept 4th 2010, the school will run 2 special shuttle buses from Lyon St Exupéry Airport to the venue in Autrans as follows:
- The 1st shuttle bus will leave Lyon St Exupéry Airport at 17:00. On its way, it will stop at the Grenoble Bus Station ("Grenoble Coach" / "Gare Routière" in French) at around 18:00 allowing the participants arriving by train to join (the Bus station is located next to the train station). The bus will then continue its journey to Autrans. Arrival to the school venue is scheduled for approximately 19:15. (Dinner will be served at 20:00).
- The 2nd shuttle bus will leave Lyon St Exupéry Airport at 20:00. On its way, it will stop at the Grenoble Bus Station ("Grenoble Coach" / "Gare Routière" in French) at around 21:00 allowing the participants arriving by train to join. The bus will then continue its journey to Autrans. Arrival to the school venue is scheduled at approximately 22:15. (Please grab a sandwich along the way as no dinner will be served upon arrival).
When you arrive at Lyon St Exupéry airport, please go up one level to the 1st floor. A hostess will be waiting for you at the airport MEETING POINT behind a welcome desk showing the school’s ARTIST logo. This hostess will be able to answer all your questions and will show you the way to the arranged free shuttle buses (departures planned at 17h00 and 20h00 in front of the TGV train station).
Please note that public transport buses are also available between Lyon St Exupéry airport and the Grenoble bus station. Departure from Lyon St Exupéry Airport is from 06:30 to 23:30. Transfer time is 1 hour and a one way ticket is 22€ (return ticket 33€) (not reimbursed by the school). (Full timetable).
2. Arrival via Grenoble Train station
 
School’s Free Shuttle Buses from Grenoble Train station

Coming out of the train station, please walk to your left towards the Grenoble Bus Station (“Gare Routière” in French). Saturday afternoon, a hostess will wait for you outside of the Grenoble Bus Station’s entrance, showing the school’s ARTIST logo. She will inform you where to take the school’s 2 free shuttle buses to the venue in Autrans.
- One leaving Grenoble at around 18:00 and scheduled to reach the venue at approx. 19:15;
- The other one leaving Grenoble at around 21:00, and scheduled to arrive at the school venue at approximately 22:15.
Both buses will be coming from Lyon St Exupery airport and make a stop at the Grenoble Bus Station on their way to Autrans.
NB: Public transport shuttle buses are also available from Grenoble Bus Station to Autrans (with a bus transfer in Lans en Vercors “Maison du Tourisme”). One way ticket is 4€30. Please ask the driver to stop at the school venue “l’Escandille” in Autrans.

3. Arrival via Grenoble St Geoirs airport
The airport has only one terminal. Public transport buses to the Grenoble bus Station (“Gare Routière” in French) are available. Transfer time is 45 minutes and a one way ticket is 12,50€ (return ticket 22,00€) (not reimbursed by the school). Full timetable
As mentioned above, the school will run 2 special free shuttle buses from the Grenoble Bus Station to the school venue in Autrans:
- One leaving Grenoble at around 18:00 and scheduled to reach the venue at approx. 19:15;
- The other one leaving Grenoble at around 21:00, and scheduled to arrive at the school venue at approximately 22:15.
4. Arrival via Geneva airport
Five airport shuttle buses per day are available between Geneva Airport and Grenoble Bus Station. Transfer time is 2 hours and 10 minutes. Exact departure times and prices here.
Upon arrival to Geneva airport, please go to the “Tourist Information Office” on the "Arrivals" level to purchase your ticket, opposite the exit gate.
Upon your arrival to Grenoble Bus Station, the school will run 2 special free shuttle buses from the Grenoble Bus Station to the school venue in Autrans:
- One leaving Grenoble at around 18:00 and scheduled to reach the venue at approx. 19:15;
- The other one leaving Grenoble at around 21:00, and scheduled to arrive at the school venue at approximately 22:15.


Departure times / date

On Friday, Sept 10th, please note rooms must be vacated by 12 noon. A safe luggage area will be provided to store your luggage on Friday if necessary.

The school will adjourn just after lunch on Friday - no lectures will take place in the afternoon.

Two shuttle buses have been arranged by the school and will leave Autrans at 14:30:
- One will go down to Grenoble Bus Station (arrival time 15:30)
- The other will go to Lyon St Exupery airport (arrival time 16:30), then make a final stop at the TGV Train station (next to the airport).

Please note the school has negotiated special fares to Grenoble and to Lyon St Exupery airport:
- One-way fare from Autrans to Grenoble bus station is 65€
- One-way fare from Autrans to Lyon St Exupéry airport is 200€.
