Participants are kindly requested to arrive the afternoon of Sunday Sept 6th. The school will start on Monday Sept 7th at 9:00.

 

Sunday: School’s Free Shuttle Buses from Lyon St Exupéry Airport

On Sunday September 6th 2009, the school will run 2 special shuttle buses from Lyon St Exupéry Airport to the venue in Autrans as follows:

• The 1st shuttle bus will leave Lyon St Exupéry Airport at 17:00. On its way, it will stop at the Grenoble Bus Station ("Grenoble Coach" / "Gare Routière" in French) at around 18:00 allowing the participants arriving by train to join (the Bus station is situated next to the train station). The bus will then continue its journey to Autrans. Arrival at the school venue is scheduled between 19:00/19:15.
• The 2nd shuttle bus will leave Lyon St Exupéry Airport at 20:00. On its way, it will stop at the Grenoble Bus Station ("Grenoble Coach" / "Gare Routière" in French) at around 21:00 allowing the participants arriving by train to join. The bus will then continue its journey to Autrans. Arrival to the school venue is scheduled at approximately 22:15.

At Lyon St Exupéry airport, signs as well as a hospitality lounge will be available to accommodate participants arriving before 17:00. A hostess will also welcome participants at both places (Lyon St Exupéry Airport and Grenoble Bus Station) and will show the way to the buses.

Public transportion buses are also available between Lyon St Exupéry airport and the Grenoble bus station. Departure from Lyon St Exupéry Airport is every hour on the half hour (e.g. from 06:30 to 23:30 on Sundays, from 05:30 all other weekdays). Transfer time is 1 hour and one way is 20,00€ (30,00€ return ticket) (NOT COVERED BY THE SCHOOL). From Grenoble bus station to Lyon St Exupéry airport, departure is every hour on the hour (e.g. from 05:00 to 21:00, from 06:00 on Sundays).

Sunday: Arrival from Grenoble Train station to Autrans

Coming out of the train station, please walk to your left towards the Grenoble Bus Station (“Gare Routière” in French). A hostess will wait for you at a counter of the Grenoble Bus Station, showing the school’s "Artist" logo. She will inform you where to take the school’s free shuttle to the venue in Autrans.

The school will run 2 special free shuttle buses from the Grenoble Bus Station to the school venue in Autrans:
 One leaving at around 18:00 and scheduled to reach the venue at approximately 19:15;
 One leaving at around 21:00 and scheduled to reach the venue at approximately 22:15.

Both buses will be coming from Lyon St Exupery airport and make a stop at the Grenoble Bus Station on their way to Autrans.

NB: Public transport shuttle buses are also available (with a bus transfer in Lans en Vercors). One way ticket is 4€10. Please ask the driver to stop at the school venue “l’Escandille” in Autrans.

Sunday: Arrival via Grenoble (St Geoirs) airport

The airport has only one terminal. Public transport buses to the Grenoble bus Station (“Gare Routière” in French) are available.

The school will run 2 special free shuttle buses from the Grenoble Bus Station to the school venue in Autrans:
 One leaving at around 18:00 and scheduled to reach the venue at approximately 19:15;
 One leaving at around 21:00 and scheduled to reach the venue at approximately 22:15.

 

Sunday: Arrival via Geneva airport

Three airport shuttle buses per day are available between Geneva Airport and Grenoble Bus Station.
Departure times from Geneva airport to Grenoble: 11:00, 14:30 and 20:00.
Travel time is 2 hours and 30 minutes with one stop only in Chambery. One way ticket is 43€, return ticket is 69€.
Please go to the “Tourist Information Office” to purchase your ticket, opposite the exit gate.

The school will run 2 special free shuttle buses from the Grenoble Bus Station to the school venue in Autrans:
 One leaving at around 18:00 and scheduled to reach the venue at approximately 19:15;
 One leaving at around 21:00 and scheduled to reach the venue at approximately 22:15.

 

Friday: Departure from Autrans after the Summer School

Please note that the school will adjourn just after lunch on Friday. No lectures will take place Friday afternoon.

• 2 shuttle buses will be arranged by the school and will leave Autrans at 14:30. There will be a stop-over at Grenoble Bus Station ("Grenoble Coach" / "Gare Routière" in French) at around 15:30 for the participants catching a train. The two shuttle buses will continue their journey to Lyon St Exupéry Airport. Arrival to St Exupéry airport is scheduled at around 16:45.

The one-way fare from Autrans to the Grenoble bus station is 65€. One-way fare from Autrans to the Lyon St Exupéry airport is 200€.

 

School Venue / Accommodations

The ARTIST Summer School in Europe 2009 will be held at the seminar centre:

Rooms for the participants have been booked from Sunday Sept 6th (3 PM) to Friday Sept 11th (morning).
Students will be on Double or Triple occupancy basis. Upon arrival please check in at the reception where you will receive your badge and programme for the week.

A welcome drink and presentation of the week will take place at the hotel on Sunday at 19:30 will be followed by a welcome dinner.

During the week, all lunches and dinners will be served at L’Escandille daily with the exception of Tuesday Sept 8th (informal dinner in a typical Vercors farm), and Thursday Sept 10th (Gala Dinner outside the venue). Transfers will be arranged by coach accordingly for both evenings and are included in the Registration fee.

On Friday 11, rooms must be vacated by 12 noon. A safe luggage area will be provided to store your luggage until the end of the course.
